What: Do you have a youngster who simply thrives when in front of an audience? Has a ton of energy? Enjoys making up stories, or playing dress up? Then bring them to our Mini Actors class on Tuesday afternoons!

This is a workshop class designed to engage young child in the techniques, and basics of theatre. Each class involves a theme designed to give your child a positive experience, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

• Acting out stories/literacy through reading!

• Costumes and Props!

• Creative outlet to enhance the imagination!

• Learning about production through memorization, blocking, and rehearsing!

• Building cognitive skills, while understanding and following direction, and having a ton of fun!

When & Where: Tuesdays 4:30pm-5:15pm @ The Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg

Classes are 4 weeks long. Each month will hold a specific theme, curriculum, and presentation, so there is no "missing out" if you choose to sign up for one month, and not the other. Each month is registered individually.

 

FEATURED MINI PLAY AND CURRICULUM:

• March 1st-22nd: "Where the Wild Things Are" A short play based on the popular short story by Maurice Sendak!

• April *5th-26th: "Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses" A short play based on the popular short story by James and Kimberly Dean! This class only has TWO spaces left!

 

*April 5th will be held at The Art Factory in Blacksburg due to The Lyric being unavailable

 

Families are invited the last week of class from 5:00-5:15pm for an end of class demonstration by the Mini Actors! A "Mini" Production!
