What: Do you have a youngster who simply thrives when in front of an audience? Has a ton of energy? Enjoys making up stories, or playing dress up? Then bring them to our Mini Actors class on Monday afternoons!

This is a workshop class designed to engage young child in the techniques, and basics of theatre. Each class involves a theme designed to give your child a positive experience, and enjoyable learning atmosphere.

• Music and movement!

• Games and activities!

• Acting out stories/literacy through reading!

• Costumes and Props!

• Creative outlet to enhance the imagination!

• Learning about production through memorization, blocking, and rehearsing!

• Building cognitive skills, while understanding and following direction, and having a ton of fun!

When & Where: Mondays 4:30pm-5:15pm @ The Lyric Theatre in Blacksburg

Classes are 4 weeks long. Each month will hold a specific theme, curriculum, and presentation, so there is no "missing out" if you choose to sign up for one month, and not the other. Each month is registered individually.

 

FEATURED MINI PLAY AND CURRICULUM:​

• January 29th-February 19th. "The Little Red Hen Makes Pizza". Based on the book by Philemon Sturges.

• March 4th-March 25th "A bad case of stripes". Based on the book by David Shannon-FULL

• April 8th-April 29th "Dragon's Love Tacos" based on the book by Adam Rubin

 

Families are invited the last week of class from 5:00-5:15pm for an end of class demonstration by the Mini Actors! A "Mini" Production!

Parents, you will need to sign your child In/Out each week. However, you do not need to stay for class unless you choose to. See class Terms & Conditions for health regulations and protocol. Masks are not required at this time.
